Various validation errors
1/4/10 8:57 AM
I am trying to make my first puzzle, and I can't figure out what some of the validation errors mean. I read everything I can find on the site about making puzzles, and I haven't been able to find anything that explains what all the errors are. What does "too long line" mean? If I knew what was wrong I might be better able to fix it than randomly trying to change the line. What other errors might I run across? I understand "failed" and "too low background color" but those were the only ones I could find an explanation for.

Hi,
You can find the explanations about the workshop in this page.
About the long lines, it says: "Length of Clue Lines - The maximum length of a clue line is 20 clues. If a clue line has more than the permitted length the workshop alerts: "Long row - FAILED!" or "Long column - FAILED!" for more than 25 clues and "Long row" or "Long column" for lines with 21-25 clues. The workshop also places circles on the puzzle in the long column/rows."

So it means you've got too many clues in the marked lines, which would make the solving tedious and the puzzle hard to fit to your screen.

I hope this helps!
