Next G-Match and a Call for Puzzles

The 8th G-Match tournament will start on March 14th. It will have 24 rounds, one round every week. The matches will be on Saturdays at a different hour of the day - from Saturday midnight GMT to Saturday 11PM GMT. Passwords will be given in the chat room, like before.

The full plan of the 8th tournament and the time table of the first rounds will be provided later.

Call for Puzzles
To the Authors:
The "reservoir" of the G-Match puzzles is almost empty. If we want to keep the next G-Match as before we need small and easy puzzles. We call our authors and all others to create puzzles fit for the G-Match. Thanks in advance!

To the G-Players:
Please note that in the next tournament we may have harder puzzles, but less in quantity.

See you soon!

I second that vote for including Triddlers. You've done multis now, so Triddlers would complete the full experience.

Yes, I like the idea of having multis and triddlers also

Oh no, please no triddlers :( No offense to triddler fans, but griddlers and triddlers should be kept separately. Including triddlers would exclude a large number of members.

Triddlers cannot be part of a G-Match. The only way to have triddlers as a game is to create a different match. However, the time required to program a match and to run it doesn't justify the triddler's activity (10% of griddlers).

the only thing i'm concerned about is every time i try to do g-match, the password doesn't work on some of the puzzles... and then i can never finish. :(

Another person posted the same problem as I. I've been wanting to try the G-Match for some time... but the couple of times I've tried; once I couldn't find the password (does it have be made THAT hard to find?) and the other time the password would not work with any of the available puzzles.

If no changes are made for the next G-Match, would it be at all possible for one of the site administrators to do a better step-by-step detailed instructions on...
1) when to find the password
2) where specifically to find it
3) how to input it to solve the puzzles

Thanks!
Steve

It isn't hard at all to find the password or input them. All you have to do is log in to the chat room and it is right at the top of the box. It says "The password for the G-match is _____" Then you click on g-match from the drop down menus on the site and when you click on a puzzle a box pops up that says "You need a password". You type the word that was at the top of the box and the puzzle opens. You have to go back to the g-match page and click on the next puzzle and put the password in again and so on.

Be sure you are clicking on the puzzles for the correct day of the g-match. The password only works for the puzzles for that day. After 24 hours you don't need a password anymore.

Yes, I am following all these directions, but the password only works on some of the puzzles, not all of them. Which is weird, but that's how it has worked every time I've tried to be part of Gmatch.

Weird. I've participated in every tournament and never had it happen that the password didn't work on a puzzle unless I typed it in wrong (ie didn't type the capital letters or misspelled the word or accidentally left a space at the end of the word). The passwords are case sensitive. Also, try using your right arrow key to make sure there aren't any spaces inadvertently put at the end of the word.

No, not weird at all. Something new started during the last tournament. Some of the puzzles that you solve using the Chat Room password will have a secret message (there is a symbol on the puzzles that have a message). The secret message for G-Match puzzles is the 2nd password used to open the rest of the puzzles.
