The 8th G-Match Tournament is starting...!

Here we are again, ready for another exciting G-Match with some twists and turns.

The 8th tournament will have 24 rounds, one round every week. The matches will take place on Saturdays at a different hour of the day - from Saturday midnight GMT to Saturday 11PM GMT.

Passwords:
Passwords to open the puzzles will be provided in the chat room.
If you can't get into the chat - you can still play the game. When the match begins, a short list of the players appears in the middle of the chat page. Send a message to one (or more) of those players and they'll message you back the password.

Passwords are case sensitive. Copy the word accurately and make sure you don't have a space at the end of it. You can use Ctrl-C to copy the password and Ctrl-V to paste it. These shortcut keys are available in the iGridd applet as well.

Passwords Plan:
Round 1-21 - collect the passwords. Those passwords are split to three groups (group 1, group 2, group 3), seven words in each group. Secret messages (look below) will guide you to what group each password belongs.

Eventually you'll have three groups (= three lists of 7 words in each of them). For every group there is a word that can go with each of the other words. You'll need to find three words - one for every group:
Group 1: 5 letters
Group 2: 4 letters
Group 3: 7 letters

Round 22 and 23 - hints for the final match password.

Secret Messages:
Puzzles with secret messages are tagged with an icon of an evelope and a key: . If you want to test a secret message - solve puzzle 48148: Minimalism: Dragonfly.

Assistance:
During the first hour of the match the chat moderators are in the chat room to answer your questions or to assist you in case of troubles. After one hour we can't provide help.

If it is your first G-Match we recommend to visit the Frequently Asked Questions page.

Special Thanks:
We want to thank our authors for answering our call for puzzles and providing wonderful puzzles for the G-Match.

Let's Play!

I think the next week match will start at 11 AM on West Cost due to daylight saving time.

I don't think daylight saving time should make a difference in the time. How about it Gridd Team?

I was just thinking the same thing, since GMT doesn't change but we do. Best reference I've found to ensure the correct time is http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/.

You can compare times anywhere in the world with your own area. It can keep track of your time zone too, which is helpful for changes in Daylight Savings. (I use this all the time to organize MMO events.)

Not sure if it's poor form to provide outside links, so apologies in advance. Just trying to help. (^_^)

Oops. Wish editing was possible. LOL
Click on "Time Zone Converter" to see future dates/times and... well... convert them! (^_^)

Let's make it clear: The 1st round of the G-Match is at 6:00PM GMT (Saturday, March 14).

The site's GMT is a fixed time. It doesn't change in winter or summer. I missed the change of the clock for the Americans, and the original times given in here were wrong. Thanks you, jarzebinka, for noticing the error. Now the times are correct.

In any case, always look at the GMT. It is the decisive time.

Wow!! This match sounds like fun!

My husband has no idea how to do a griddler, but I have him trained that I MUST have the computer when the Gmatch is going on. He asks me several days in advance just so he knows how he needs to schedule his computer time, to account for mine.

Good luck to everyone! This is going to be another great match!
